By the way, the funny thing about that “Silent Night, Deadly Night” reboot is that if you stick to a three-sentences description of the story, it really sounds like a Stephen King book. Of course, the actual movie treatment and writing style couldn’t be further from it.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025) was great fun! It somehow includes a lot of elements from the (rather mediocre if you ask me) 1984 original, but completely and pretty brilliantly re-contextualizes them with a different overarching premise. Plus: a cathartic mass-killing scene for our current times.

“One hundred accounts are behind the majority of conspiracy theory content in Canada”: of course a minority of mostly-Twitter/X users are behind most of the bullshit. We should ban all social media for everybody, frankly, not just minors.

OK, this is the day, I’m finally watching The Beastmaster! And…. holy shit, WTF, I have SO MANY EMOTIONS. And NOT ALL OF THEM POSITIVE.

Then again, it makes sense given this was made by the “Phantasm” guy.

Tonight we are close to the end of our RuneQuest campaign’s main story arc, and I don’t know if the Alone Confederation will survive! I somehow managed to bring cosmic-horror into our Glorantha, with elder gods fleshed out of the Celestial Court! My Call of Cthulhu is showing! 😅

I was recently made aware of “Angine de Poitrine” and it’s absolutely amazing. Of course, “instrumental microtonal math rock” isn’t gonna be everybody’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine!

Entering the town of Twin Peaks.

On this Twin Peaks day, I remember when I first watched the series… it was back in France, we had a group of friends passing around copies of copies of VHS tapes, giving the whole thing a sort-of Ringu-like “cursed video” vibe. It was GREAT.

Modern technology is shit, but so-called “smart” internet-connected modern technology is super mega shit. Example 2351: “Man accidentally gains control of 7,000 robot vacuums”, including live camera and microphone feeds.

There’s this house on my block that always has lights on in ALL THE ROOMS. I’ve walked past that house in the evening, in the early morning, and even in the middle of the night. LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON. What the fuck is going on? WHAT IS MAKING THE PEOPLE THERE SO AFRAID OF THE DARK?
