Here’s another great explanation, courtesy of the CBC (you know, the thing Poilievre wants the defund) about Canada’s dairy tariffs, venerable supply management laws (which are good!), and all that stuff about the supposed 200%+ charges on milk.

“Poilievre Promises LNG Canada Approval. There’s Just One Hitch. The project’s already been given the government’s thumbs-up.”: what a liar. The irony is that Trudeau took a big hit from green-conscious people in BC when that happened… yet until recently BC was trending towards the CPC.
“Mark Carney’s housing plan is a big step forward”: it’s hilarious and sad that Conservatives throw terms like “communism” and “soviet-style” in response to this plan. It feels like all they do these days is argue for cutting regulations and taxes and not, you know, doing anything.
“Mercator Extreme” is a great fun website (for map nerds) where you can set any point on the globe as the “pole” for a Mercator projection map… place the pole where you live and hilarity ensues! (for a certain definition of hilarity)

The Story of Another World on Amiga: this is another one of my absolute favourite games ever. Such a great experience! Maybe I should play it again… anyway, here’s some overview of the tech behind it, by MVG.
I find this interesting: a recent study finds that in addition to things like lack of tolls and bad urban planning, the rise of the SUV (and the general “car bloat” of the automotive industry) plays a significant role in the worsening of traffic congestion in the US.
With a lot of Canadians trying to avoid US products, and grocery stores slapping maple leaf labels everywhere to ride that wave, of course there was bound to be some abuse or, at least, gray area around what these labels mean. Here’s a nice little look into the matter by the CBC.
