This list of Adobe software alternatives maintained by XdanielArt is going around again! It’s very well done and useful, but remember these alternatives are not necessarily viable. E.g. Affinity Photo/Publisher are great but will only get you 80% there, and none of the Lightroom alternatives are good IMO.

Since last time I looked at personal finance software years ago, it looks like they all migrated their handling of banking credentials to something called “Plaid” which asks for your bank password, phone number, and date of birth and I’m like NO FUCKING WAY
Cobs Bread isn’t my favourite bakery around here, but unlike most other Canadian bakeries, it does the one thing a bakery is supposed to do: be open at 8AM so you can get your fucking bread and croissants for your fucking breakfast. And I love them for that.
You can tell when a store’s music playlist is curated by its own employees by the fact that the theme song to Serial Experiments Lain is playing when you come in… well either that, or an obscure British alt-rock song from 1998 suddenly became popular on Spotify or something.
Funk is the only self-descriptive genre in music: it’s only really funk if someone is saying “funk” somewhere around the chorus.
That’s a hell of a sentence, here, Mrs Muir. No wonder 2000+ people highlighted it. And yes, this book is half written as a second-person narrative, which is a very interesting choice that works super well in this case.
Last Friday I ran our second Monster of the Week #TTRPG adventure from (checks notes) three bullet points, one of which was added 5min before the game. It went great! I don’t like the system (PbtA is “meh” to me) but it’s fun! We’re aiming for a short 4/5-scenarios campaign.
