“The Topologist’s Map of the World”: I had seen this before but it’s always wonderful to stumble upon it again. Such a great piece of work.
It’s amazing to still see US people think that their country is “great” because it’s got ultra-wealthy corporations, not understanding that actually it’s what contributed to their country becoming a total shit-hole. Enjoy your subscription-based fascism, I guess.
Time Without Tide Quickstart so far:
- Modern-ish STAT+SKILL system! YES! Never too late, Chaosium! 😅👍
- Art is really great and fun.
- Setting is meh 🤷… not bad, just nothing that particularly excites me.
- Overall looks like a Free League game. THIS IS A COMPLIMENT!
Okay I think the cover to “The King’s Daughters” (my Call of Cthulhu scenario set in New France) is almost finished. Ugggh, it’s such an uphill battle for me to paint anything.
“Time Without Tide” looks nice but it somehow doesn’t feel to me like a Chaosium game, and I think the reason isn’t the system, but the fact that Chaosium always made “literary games”: based on mythology and history, fantasy novels, horror stories, etc. TWT isn’t any of that?
As always, I draw a pencil sketch that I’m pretty happy with, then I start adding colour, and within a couple minutes the whole thing looks like shit and I hate it. Painting is sooo harrrrdd
Just got my notification from the Government of Canada: export restrictions are now at 50% on TTRPG meta-currencies to the US. American players in your games only get half XP, bennies, hero-points, level bumps, and so on. Good on Carney to do the right thing!
People have no CLUE that Tim Curry was such a LEGEND.

It might be time for me to stop reading Daring Fireball. Gruber is turning out to be a gross tech-libertarian who sometimes says the most crazy things. Besides, it’s probably good to cut down on US voices in my media diet right now, especially those who make a career of defending big corps.
