I still remember the sense of excitement I felt upon learning the existence of an animal called the “wombat”, imagining a dreadful winged creature of the night, and the utter disappointment that followed when I saw what it actually looks like.

I played through The Last Of Us (Part 1) a couple months ago and my hot take is that it’s like a David Cage game: it’s more interested in being a movie with vaguely interactive scenes between story beats than being a video game. The difference with a David Cage game is that it’s actually very good.

Tonight we are close to the end of our RuneQuest campaign’s main story arc, and I don’t know if the Alone Confederation will survive! I somehow managed to bring cosmic-horror into our Glorantha, with elder gods fleshed out of the Celestial Court! My Call of Cthulhu is showing! 😅

On this Twin Peaks day, I remember when I first watched the series… it was back in France, we had a group of friends passing around copies of copies of VHS tapes, giving the whole thing a sort-of Ringu-like “cursed video” vibe. It was GREAT.

For Valentine’s Day, I’m running a CoC scenario set in 1665 colonial French Canada: you play as one of the King’s Daughters, coming to the colonies to find a husband! Horrible things happen, including hopefully my players having to wear a bonnet and a ring if, you know, Temu delivers in time.
