It’s funny to see US corporations withholding new features in Europe, and US tech bloggers cheering as if it was “gonna show’ em” or something. These people completely forgot what a functioning government looks like. And also that normal people don’t care.
My favourite big sci-fi movie bad trope is “protagonist gets hired at the last minute to lead a super important mission that was years in the making”. That’s solid project management, there, Bob… (and yes, I know why it makes sense narratively speaking)
Mozilla has become slowly worse over the past few years, but this latest Firefox shenanigan is extremely disappointing. The actual feature is actually interesting if you check it out, and the Web could benefit from it, but being opted-into it silently is definitely not OK.
