I backed the Ars Magic Definitive Edition crowdfunding, but the thing that gave me pause was the marketing around a “massive” and “expanded” rulebook. I don’t want massive #TTRPG rulebooks! Why is everybody making rulebooks bigger with every edition? Can’t we go back to <256 pages?

I’ve been working on-and-off on a “samurai vs yokai” #TTRPG game for a little while now, and every time I do some research, I find yet another existing or upcoming game in that same genre. So I increasingly wonder if I should just abandon my idea and play one of those…


I voted for the BC Provincial Elections! Pretty easy pick in my riding since the only two candidates are the NDP incumbent, and a BC Conservative guy whose party is a newly formed mess with several bad actors, a problematic leader, and a program that looks like a half-baked copy of the opposition.
