The whole “defund the police” movement (to which I’m sympathetic) is a mostly American thing, but it’s interesting to see how it could apply to police spending in Canadian cities.

John Gruber is usually one of the best Apple reporters, but IMHO his capitalist US-centric view makes him write extremely poor takes when his favourite corporation falls under government regulation. Remember that Apple is cleverly making DMA a mess on purpose.
