Mozilla has become slowly worse over the past few years, but this latest Firefox shenanigan is extremely disappointing. The actual feature is actually interesting if you check it out, and the Web could benefit from it, but being opted-into it silently is definitely not OK.
It’s weird to me that Mastodon still doesn’t have multiple timeline algorithms. “No algorithms” isn’t the opposite of Meta/Twitter/etc’s algorithms: it should be “algorithms you control” vs “algorithms you don’t control”. Bluesky understands that with its Feeds.
