Crowdfunding for 7th Sea 3rd edition is coming up soon! Let’s see if this one can fix all the fans’ complaints about the 2nd edition’s system (which was OK to me but I had never played 1st edition… I should try it one day!)

Nice, Sean Punch and Steve Jackson Games released the “GURPS Basic Set, Fourth Edition Revised FAQ”. I haven’t followed the news about this revised edition closely so that’s welcome. Book comes out in March!

Wikipedia says that “hair ice” is somewhat uncommon, but I see it all the time around here during the winter… I suppose we’ve got all the ingredients for it in British Columbia!

Crisp and moody morning around the lake today!

Me: modern OSes are out of control, getting increasingly bloated with every update, cramming shit on my computer, and now I’m running out of drive space!

Also me: oh hey maybe I should uninstall these five games that take up 40Gb each and that I haven’t played in years!

Humanity has conquered the oceans, space, and particles, but what have we managed to come up with to store our used-but-not-dirty-yet clothes at home? A chair. That’s the best we could do. We put clothes on a chair.

I found Wake Up Dead Man entertaining but a big step down from the previous Knives Out movies. Rhythm issues, logic problems, and unbelievable plot points kinda turned me off for a bit. Still, it’s fun to see great actors deliver fun lines of dialogue.

A couple months ago I finished watching (for the first time!) the original Star Trek series. It was great! A mix of charming, profound, cheesy, and cool. Plus, a weird mix of progressive/woke and outdated/cringe stuff. Overall, I love that “old sci-fi” feeling! Next: the Motion Picture!

Yesterday was the second Harry Potter movie at the Orpheum, with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra doing the soundtrack live. Spectacular as always, and very lively — it’s always fun having everybody cheer and boo at the screen!
