Ramblings of General Geekery

The Mars Volta’s latest album (first one in over ten years) is very mellow and pop-sounding, which is an unsurprising departure from their previous work. I’m happy to hear a few tracks with strong Latin-American vibes.

The vote is in, people: pretty much none of my players liked the Traveller character creation system! #ttrpg

It’s very useful to have a well defined campaign framework, with players making characters that fit the premise, but sometimes I like letting players make whatever character they want for the setting and I figure out the campaign premise from them! Fun challenge #ttrpg

Well, that’s it, I finished watching the entire Babylon 5 series. Good stuff overall! It felt dated at first but we got into it pretty quickly, although my wife lost interested after the Shadow War. My favourite character was probably Vir!

I got some One Piece and DBZ flavoured sparkling water. I don’t like sparkling water. I just got this because it had pretty drawings.

This week or the next should be the end of our short (a bit less than 20 sessions) campaign of Traveller. Now considering what interlude one-shot to play, and what campaign to start next… #ttrpg

The problem with almost all #ttrpg VTTs is that they put the focus on the battle map. Your friends, the character sheet, the handouts, are in a corner or in optional windows. AFAIC this is the opposite of what’s important in a game.
