Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025) was great fun! It somehow includes a lot of elements from the (rather mediocre if you ask me) 1984 original, but completely and pretty brilliantly re-contextualizes them with a different overarching premise. Plus: a cathartic mass-killing scene for our current times.
One of the things I miss from France is the ubiquity of the various ice-cream desserts, especially my favourite, the Peach Melba. So I’ve come up with a quick-and-dirty way to make them myself, with home-made raspberry coulis and whipped cream!
“Haunted Hotel” started as a sort-of-vaguely-entertaining animated series, but I grew to like it more as the writers found their stride a few episodes in. By the time you get to that great season finale, it’s funny and spooky and strangely touching. Abaddon of course steals the show.
