It’s nice to start the week with French news about Marine LePen (the far-right party leader) being ineligible for 5 years and on house arrest along with a few of her people… and meanwhile, Nicolas Sarkozy possibly getting something a bit worse soon. Yay!
I’m on one of the fun little boats of False Creek so you can bet your ass I’m coming back from the market with like $400 worth of bread, charcuterie, and cheese.
Canada won’t be spared from the election interference we see in other countries, and our upcoming federal election will be an absolute mess on that regard. Expect a lot of pro-Poilievre shit on social media… you know, the guy who refuses to be briefed on election interference?
“Ottawa pledges $1.5 billion over 10 years for Metro Vancouver transit”: nice to see the government investing in transit around the country. I’m sure we’d all love more public scrutiny of TransLink’s finances, but it’s also nice to not see the press frame this as a “loss”. This is investment.
When we get heavy rains, the area around Deer Lake really lives up to its wetland nature… and the good fluffy boy gets lots of treats from me so he leaves the ducks alone!
